It's another Utah first for Traci and Hans.....hiking Timp! For those of us who may be unaware, Mount Timpanogos is the most majestic mountain peak in Utah Valley reaching almost 12,000 feet! A group of family and friends started out early on Friday, July 30th for our adventure!
Just after a few minutes of hiking, Hans and I are pretty sweaty....it's going to be a long day!
Cool moon in the early morning light.
We made it! Top of TIMP! Put my name in the log book and everything!
I loved this shot that Monette got of me looking down on Emerald Lake.
Hans totally zoned out and took a nap. He had just flown in the night before from being in Texas for a few days and was suffering from what he assumed was altitude sickness!
Hans has a cool app on his phone that will put together several pictures to make a panoramic, so our friend Rob took these pictures to get the whole shot of the mountain and the valley!
Oh man, that glacier was a hoot! It really was so fun, I was not prepared with anything, so I was soaking wet, but I LOVED it!
I can totally hear Hans' yell when I look at this picture, it is hilarious to me. I was so frozen, I couldn't get up!
The colors on this photo are a little distorted, from Hans' phone, but these blue flowers were incredible! It was such a great day! I know a lot of people hike Timp, so I had in my head that it was pretty easy....um no, doing anything for 7 hours is hard. I was very beat by the end and was glad that I only had to listen to my complaining and not all the kids.....someday!

Timp is a great hike. I remember doing it with Jeff and his brother and wife. Nate and Jeff got a little altitude sickness, too--and they didn't have just getting into town to blame it on. I love the picture of you in the blue flowers! Awesome!
Traci you rock! Next year let's go together!
Steve and I were so bummed we couldn't be there for this. We are set on doing it next summer for sure. It looks incredible!
