Every year I put together a gingerbread house with some friends.... then that night, before I clean up my mess, we go crazy with the kids....with a little cheating. Graham crackers with a little gingerbread house facade.
Here is the gang, going crazy with the candy!
Gray's was a monster house....
Includes a dead gingerbread man....so sad.
Hans and Rock worked hard....includes an attached garage and a motor-home. Sweet!
Josie truly did all the decorating herself...
She couldn't wait to take a bite!
Tru described his as a black hole...?... and there is a dead guy on the toothpick. I'm scared!
Chloe kept to a more traditional (less death involved) gingerbread theme. I love the dress she made out of gum.
She also made a little bed with pillows for one of her gingerbread guys. Darling!
Now, not to brag, but I spent about 10 more hours on mine....and it is one of my favorites!
My topiary garden, fountain and all...it just makes me laugh! The blue water is a blue raspberry airhead!
Gumball fireplace chimney...
Each year I hide 5 "Christmas ghosts," they are white tic tacs with little black eyes.... can you see one peaking out from behind the gingerbread man? The kids love it!
We love our Christmas traditions!

You are truly amazing!
Wow. I am impressed. I am not that creative or that patient. But, my kids love that tradition.
And we just watched Temple Grandin (thanks to your recommendation). Love it.
Trac! I love your house! I love the black and white roof. So cute.
i'm blown away, and hungry! i just had a snack of peas&corn (the vegetables, not some kind of halloween candy like you get) and now i want SUGAR! What is the fluffy white ground stuff? icing? Meg really wants to meet Chloe, and we laughed because she put the gingerbread man to bed and that is such a megane thing to do :)
