Yesterday, while preparing to go to a track meet for Chloe and Tru, Rock came running in the house, screaming, yelling, crying with a mouth full of blood and his front tooth in his hand. Yes, you read that right, his permanent right central incisor...in his hand! It looked very similar to the tooth below, just a lot bloodier!
So here's the story, Rock was doing a little dunking and hanging on the rim.....
As you can see, the net is at just the right height to bite on...yes bite on, which is exactly what he did. Then he opened his mouth and let go, but the net didn't.
He fell down, grabbed his mouth and the tooth fell out into his hand.
He ran across the cul de sac...
Dropping some blood along the way.
He ran into the house with blood curdling screams and when I said, "what happened?" as I looked up from what I was doing,
he showed me his tooth in his hand.
I calmly (totally out of the ordinary for me) took the tooth and put it back in his mouth,
right where it was supposed to go.
Grabbed some paper towels and called my brother who is a dentist.
He luckily was there and said to come straight down.
It stopped bleeding by the time we got there.
And Rock wasn't even crying!
He bonded the two front teeth together (in the back where you can't see)
and now we wait and see.
It could heal up just fine,
it could need a root canal and a crown,
and it could fall out all together and need an implant.
Either way, we wait!
This is what it looked like exactly 24 hours later.... not too bad.
What a tough little guy!
As a little side note....I felt I handled it extremely well until I fell into bed and about passed out realizing that I had been tense with every muscle flexed for hours.....crazy tired! Ha ha!
Happy Mother's Day Week
