HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRU!!!

The Big 9!
January 16, 2010, Truman Jacob Magleby turns 9! He was so excited that he woke up really early (being his parents and understanding his tendencies, we told him he couldn't come in before 7, which was very generous on our part, considering it was Saturday!), he watched half a movie before coming up to our room! He was so excited to get some more Gumby characters and a Mr.Bill t-shirt to go along with his prized Mr. Bill that he picked out with Grandma for his birthday. On top of Blockhead G, is an awesome turtle that Josie gave to him (with the help of Grandma M) and we all think it looks like him because it has glasses too!
This Gumby set didn't come in time.... always fun to get presents a couple days late! It extends the life of the birthday!
Getting ready for the Birthday breakfast of champions!
While waiting for breakfast, a little pogoing was in order. It was still dark since it was so dang early! Still fun!
Delish!
Sweet breakfast full of awesome protein and ever so nutritious grease!
Truman is a lover of all creatures, especially the ugly ones!
A fun day with friends was in order....Avatar with Johnny, Jake, Mckay and Dodge....and most of their Dads!
Then back to the house for some presents and some pie! Contain the excitement Tru!
In this picture, Tru was singing "Happy Birthday to ME!"
I always let the kids pick what they want their candles in. Sometimes it's a costco cake, sometimes its homemade, more often than not, it isn't a cake. Brownies, pie and any dessert will do. Most of the time I can guess what each kid wants....it is usually something they request often....not Tru. Something not only have we never had, but I've never made....Vanilla Cream Pie! This kid loves VANILLA!!! It turned out pretty good, but luckily for me the pie crust recipe makes two, so I had to fill the other pie crust with something....Chocolate Cream all the way baby!
He had a little trouble with the last candle and had to use one more breath!
The next day was Sunday and we invited Grandma and Grandpa Magleby over for another dinner...Tru picked Artichokes (They are $4 a piece right now and he agreed to wait until spring when you can get them at costco......it would have cost me $40 just to feed this group the appetizer!), but he settled for steak and potatoes...such a man! Then it was caramel pudding cake for dessert and more candles! We love you Truman, you are such a great kid, so nice and kind! Not to mention, crazy smart and really handsome!
Here's to you TRU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
